Application of Failure Mode Effects Analysis for Maintenance of Turnout System on Serviced Urban Rapid Transit

Over the past 25 years, maintenance processes for wooden sleeper turnouts of floating tracks (known as STEDEF) have been insufficient, lacking accurate history and failure cause analyses. Currently, damaged parts are repeatedly replaced without an analysis their failure. Therefore, it has difficult to predict potential damages due lack data on items timing turnout component. This study proposes a plan using mode effects (FMEA) technique analyze period spanning 10 years. The damage type was classified confirm frequency. Additionally, components that could lower occurrence score were selected based risk turnover. possible reduce by improving size top plate number bolts.
